Visit to Grade 1 class: The Grade 1 has a fish tank in their class. We wanted to see how their interactions affect the fishes. We had lots of questions for them. Mikhail and Reyansh wondered: Who would take care of the fishes when everyone goes home at night? Esther, Isabel and Gabriella wondered: What do they eat, how do they eat and what time do they eat? KueiYen wondered: Who cleaned the water tank and how did they do it? We learnt about the special kind of foods the fishes ate everyday. We also learnt that during the weekends the fishes have special food called feeder blocks which are placed in the tank. this helps feed the fishes on the weekend when we don't come to school. This is our last week of this unit. We made posters, books and a play to show our understanding. 100 Day Fun!
Field trip to the Zoo We saw a lot of animals at the zoo and had discussions about Is it fair for the animals to stay in the Zoo? What was the role of the Keepers at the Zoo? Were they being helpful or hurtful? Some of us thought that it was good for the animals to stay in the zoo as they were taken care of by the keepers at the zoo. But we did not like to see the animals living in small enclosures and cages and felt sad to for them. They should be living in the jungles and forest where they have more space to move. |
