Mathematics: Data Central Idea: Information can be expressed by collecting, organising data and discuss chance in daily life Lines of Inquiry
Ms Smita: What is data? Charlie: It is knowledge when you research. Keshav: It is finding how many? Mikhail: It is finding how much? With this understanding we decided to to find out how many loops each of us could make in 3 minutes. We then laid them in a straight line. We realized that we had to label them and we needed a title for what we were finding out. Finally we analysed our loops, how long or short, how many or how few could we make. We found that Most or the longest loop was 13 loops long. Least or shortest was 2 loops long. Five students built loops that were 6 loops long. We sorted our shoes into three groups (laces, straps, and both-lace and staprs ) and made a concrete graph using our shoes.
