UOI Sharing The Planet Central Idea: Human actions affect other living things Lines of Inquiry:
To learn about how we would react to other living things in the environment we went for a little picnic in our school! On two days we went to the lovely green areas in our school where we laid the mats and had our snack! It was so much fun (and we got lucky as it was not raining at that time and the sun was peeking out from between the clouds!). We saw some spiders, ants, bugs and a snail. And how did we interact? Some of us were scared, some of shooed the bug away and some of us just let let them be and watched them move! On another day when we just got back from the library we found a big mess in our class! The pencils were lying on the floor, the toys were found thrown all around the class! We wondered who had made the mess? We were sad, mad, upset and disturbed to see our class in a mess. We took up the responsibility and cleaned up the mess. Ms Smita was so proud of us! We then made connections to our new unit ' Sharing The Planet'. Just like being responsible for class, we also need to be responsible for our planet. Everything we do affects our planet. Mathematics:
