We have been choosing all types of activities that have been supporting our wellbeing. "I like bouncing a ball!" says Kotoha. "I like to use the ipad," said Riei. " I want to make a kite because I like kites," said Antoine. "I want to build a model and it makes me happy," says Athan. "I like to watch something," said Grace. " I love painting!" said Sara. "Building a long train track is so much fun," said Andy. "I like eating," said Rei. We have been meditating to help us relax, making peace day wishes for 'Peace Day,' and learning about which food and drinks are healthy and helps our wellbeing. We looked at and discussed what we had for our snack and lunch and were able to say if it was healthy or not healthy. We also sorted lots of food under healthy and unhealthy labels and looked at the 5 food groups pyramid. We have been sorting food into fruit, vegetables, grains, milk and proteins groups. We then made a plan to make a plate of healthy food. We used lots of materials from our classroom to help us fill our plate. We have been continuing to make our gym in our role play area and it is ready to use. Come and visit our happy gym! Maths We have been making and continuing patterns using cubes, shape, buttons and arrows. Literacy We have learned how to read to someone and check for understanding. We have to sit in 'EEKK.' This means, 'Elbow to Elbow, Knee to knee.' We look for who is in the story and what they are doing.
