Mathematics: Day and Night We explored Day and Night. We divided the day into morning, afternoon, evening and night. We associated and made connections of the different activities to the different times of the day. Along with the K1's we explored how the earth moves, discovering that when it is night in Singapore, it is day in different parts of the world. Unit Of Inquiry: Sharing the Planet Central Idea: Human actions affect other living things Lines of inquiry: Human interaction with other living things The result of human behaviour on other living things Concepts: Causation, Change, Responsibility We sorted lots of objects in two categories 'Alive 'and 'Unalive'. We shared our knowledge and knew that things that are alive have to grow, eat and breathe. Enjoying our snack in our gardens! Daily 5 We have been focusing on finding and producing rhyming words. Measurement Mania! This week we had loads of fun understanding the concept of weight. We inquired into: Heavy Light Heavier Lighter Balanced We used the balancing scale to measure different objects and we also made our own balance scale! We weighed ourselves and tried to find objects heavier and lighter than us. Mystery Reader!
We were given several clues to solve who would be the mystery reader. We solved the mystery and found out that it was Samuel's daddy! He read us 'Dinosaur Island'. It was so much fun! We all wished that our parents would come and read! |
